Kaigami (KG) is the designer of unique, contemporary, sculptural lighting. The inspiration for designs was drawn from Origami as well as the concept of Flat Packing.
Just like in Origami, Kaigami creates objects from a flat piece of malleable material.
It should be however, pointed out that KG doesn’t only rely on triangular, square or rectangular shape. In fact, profiles used to build designs can be asymmetrical. Read more →

I wonder if you often come up with great ideas in random places (with no access to the internet, notebook, scrap of paper or even a pen to write things down on your hand) and you find yourself thinking: It’s ok. This idea is so good and brilliant that there is no way I could possibly forget it. No need to write it down. A few hours later, you realise you completely forgot what the idea was. Austrian architect, Daniel Anderson came up with a floating summer cottage design for Ålandhotels. Creator of the concept was inspired by icebergs. The exterior of the cottage remains minimalist (icebergs only show a tip above water, the rest is hidden below) and most of the 60m2 living space is submerged in water. The minimalist exterior is also an attempt to remain unintrusive to the wild surroundings. The project is still in the concept phase. Read more →

Milla Correspondence is the brainchild of Camilla Davidsson, a 28-year old breast cancer survivor who noticed there was a void in the marketplace for greeting cards for women with breast cancer. I fell in love with Two Feet Deep Voodoll collection at Bouf. Each doll comes with a keychain clip, a mobile phone attachment, an inscription of its character, a ritual card (to give the doll some extra power), a magic sack, and a gift box. How great is that!
I couldn’t help but wonder whether it’s wrong to have a Voodoo doll. Turns out it isn’t at all. Voodoo doll is a product of…Hollywood. When they made White Zombie in 1932, Hollywood stumbled on a successful commercial formula they have yet to abandon. Read more →

There is nothing that is impossible in glass. The material must be listened to, respected and worked with but ultimately will be coaxed into becoming. You cannot force it, but then again you cannot let it force you, you are in a symbiotic relationship with it; if you don’t love it then it will not love you back.
David Flower has pieces in collections as far afield as Denmark, Saudi Arabia and the United States. His expertise as a craftsman enabled him to take on commissions of varied complexity and scale. He has lead on £250,000 sculptures Read more →
